트위펠폰테인 암각화지대(Twyfelfontein or /Ui-//aes)
* 나미비아의 암각화지대로 신석기시대의 암각화를 중심으로 약 2,500건 이상이 발견되었다.
* 이 지역의 암각화는 적어도 6,000년 이상 되었을 것으로 추정한다.
* 주로 인간과 동물의 발자국·코끼리·타조·코뿔소·기린 등의 문양이 새겨져 있다.

* Twyfelfontein or /Ui-//aes has one of the largest concentrations of rock petroglyphs (engravings) in Africa. Most of these well-preserved engravings represent rhinoceros, elephant, ostrich and giraffe, as well as drawings of human and animal footprints. The site also includes six painted rock shelters with motifs of human figures in red ochre. The objects excavated from two sections, date from the Late Stone Age. The site forms a coherent, extensive and high-quality record of ritual practices relating to hunter-gatherer communities in this part of southern Africa over at least 2,000 years, and eloquently illustrates the links between the ritual and economic practices of hunter-gatherers.

콘도아 암각화 유적지(Kondoa Rock-Art Sites)
* 아프리카 동부 탄자니아의 중앙에 위치해 있는 암석화 유적으로 전체 넓이가 2,336km에 달하는 150개의 지역에 걸쳐 그려져 있으며 가파른 급경사면들은 그레이트 리프트 벨리(Great Rift Valley)와 경계를 이룬다.
* 동굴내부와 외부의 암석 표면에 2천 년 전 것으로 추정되는 수많은 암석 그림들이 남아있다. 특이한 점은 동물이나 사람들의 형태를 원래보다 훨씬 길게 늘여서 그려놓았다는 것이다.
* 예술적 가치가 높은 이곳의 암석 그림들은 이 지역의 사회·경제적 구조의 변화를 잘 보여준다.

* On the eastern slopes of the Masai escarpment bordering the Great Rift Valley are natural rock shelters, overhanging slabs of sedimentary rocks fragmented by rift faults, whose vertical planes have been used for rock paintings for at least two millennia. The spectacular collection of images from over 150 shelters over 2,336 km2, many with high artistic value, displays sequences that provide a unique testimony to the changing socio-economic base of the area from hunter-gatherer to agro-pastoralist, and the beliefs and ideas associated with the different societies. Some of the shelters are still considered to have ritual associations with the people who live nearby, reflecting their beliefs, rituals and cosmological traditions.
